Alice in Borderland Season 2 Review

Season 2 of Alice and Borderland came out at the top of the year and man was it a fun ride. If you have been out of the loop and haven't watched it yet please stop reading this now and go start it now. Are you still here? Good, let's talk. So as you know the first season of this series circles around death games. The death games are formed from a basic deck of cards. Each suit has a different meaning and the higher the number value on the card the higher the difficulty. There were no face cards. Well until the finale which leads to where we are now, Season 2. We won't go into heavy spoilers on this one because everyone deserves to view this with fresh eyes. Some general conversation on this series should suffice.

This season gets started with the action right away. No foreplay or anything. The King of Spades is here and he is ready to play. Previously in the first season, you would play a game and would be awarded vacation days in between your next game. In this season when you finish your game you are thrown back into the game where the king of spades hunts down his enemies. So you can go to the next game or stay in a world where you are hunted by what seems to be a well-equipped heavily armored military special forces agent. Yeah, good luck.

The games are way more intense than the last season which makes this season a nail-biter. Each character in this story has their own strengths in which you have to have a certain level of brains and skills to come out of these death games unscathed. It's on full display that the side character known as Chishiya is well above the intelligence of any other player in this universe. He has two of the most well-thought-out and challenging games I've ever seen. He handles them like the pro he is.

The only pushback I will give is in the final fight with the King of Spades. Some people seem like they just won't die. Stakes were taken away in that aspect but not enough to ruin the show for any watcher.

I give this πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ and a half flames out of 5. I really enjoy season 2 and it wraps this series with a bow.
