Chris Evans Joins Niell Blomkamp's Disaster Film 'Greenland'

'Elysium' and 'District 9' director Niell Blomkamp is working on a new disaster film and Chris Evans has joined the project. The film is described as follows:

"It's the story of one family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster."

Sébastien Raybaud, CEO of Anton and executive producer of the film had this to say:

“When we read Greenland, we knew it was exactly the sort of film we wanted to make as we build the Anton brand — smart, character driven genre with action and heart.”

Evans has portrayed the character of Captain America since 2011's 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and has made a name for himself playing the iconic character. Evans contract with Marvel Studios is officially up and fans of the franchise and the character are wondering if he will sign on for more films in the MCU.

Blomkamp, who blew fans away with his 'District 9' film was in talks to direct a film in the Alien franchise but negotiations fell through and Blomkamp left the project. I have been looking forward to see what Blomkamp does next and I'm excited to see 'Greenland' as he teams up with Chris Evans.
