Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Roars To A $150M Opening Weekend

 Universal and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has blown past expectations making an estimated $150 million at the domestic box office bringing the films worldwide total to $717 million. 2015's Jurassic World debuted to $208.8 million and went on to gross over $1.6 billion worldwide. 

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has had a great start overseas, the film has already grossed $567 million in the international markets. Fallen Kingdom has already grossed over $200 million in China so far as the film heads into its second weekend. 

The film sees the return of Chris Pratt (Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) as they try to save the dinosaurs from a volcano that's about to erupt. They also encounter new terrifying breeds of dinosaurs, and uncover something that could threaten the entire planet.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) and was written by "Jurassic World" director Colin Tevorrow and Derek Connolly. Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow executive produce the film, and Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley produced.

There is no doubt that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will cross the billion dollar mark, the question is how far it will go beyond that.
