‘Unruly’ will be a six-part limited series centered around legendary boxer Jack Johnson (Mahershala Ali), the world’s first Black Heavyweight Boxing Champion.

The series will be written by Dominque Morisseau and will be based on the PBS documentary ‘Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson’, directed and produced by Ken Burns. Ali will also serve as executive producer on the project via his production company Know Wonder with his wife Amatus Karim Ali and their producing partner Mimi Valdés. Beau Wilimon will co-exec. produce alongside Playtone’s Steven Shareshian.

Mahershala Ali is one of my all time favorite actors and I get excited about any project he’s apart of. I’m really looking forward to the series and I can’t wait to see him suit up as Blade in the MCU!
