Recent Horror Movies to Enjoy this Halloween

There have been so many amazing horror movies in the past few years, and this is by no means a conclusive list, but these are just a few movies I’ve enjoyed in recent years.
Antlers - an interesting take on a creature feature rooted in rich folklore. This movie feels fresh in a genre overcrowded with mediocrity.

Malignant - an interesting take on a slasher with an unconventional twist. I can actively say I’ve never experienced a slasher of this caliber.

Barbarian - a paranoia-fueled slasher meets inbreed creature feature. This film is reminiscent of some of the best horror films of the past decade but still doesn’t feel overly borrowed.

Smile - a creative take on what could’ve been an overused trope. Considering the marketing, I was initially taken aback, thankfully I was absolutely wrong. The tension is consistently high, and most scares feel earned.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It - an amazing next installment in a strong series of stories documenting the lives of the Warrens and their battle with the occult.
