Red Dead Redemption 2 Makes $725 Million in First Weekend

Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang raked in a big haul over the opening weekend as Red Dead Redemption 2 made $725 million in worldwide sales according to Rockstar Games, the developer. It is now the highest grossing weekend release of all time and second highest grossing game in its initial 3 days behind Grand Theft Auto V, another game made by Rockstar. (GTAV released on a Tuesday.)

RDR2 has also claimed highest pre-orders, day one sales, and 3 day sales Playstation 4 and is the highest critically reviewed game on PS4 and XBOX One with 97s on both consoles.

Barring that everyone that wanted the game bought it on the first weekend, RDR2 is on track to make $1 Billon within the first week.
