Early tracking predictions indicate that Lucasfilm's "Solo: A Star Wars Story", is on track gross $170M over the 4-Day Memorial Day weekend.

The Memorial Day Weekend record is currently held by Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean At World’s End” making $139.8M back in 2007.

Ron Howard directed the film after taking over the reigns from Phil Lord and Chris Miller and the screenplay was written by Jonathan and Lawrence Kasdan. "Solo" will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15th and will open on May 25th in North America and in several other markets.

I was never a fan of the idea of a Han Solo prequel movie but I have to be honest, after seeing all the trailers I'm really excited to see Alden Ehrenreich show us what Han was like before the events of "Star Wars: A New Hope."
