Syfy Cancels “The Expanse.”

Lost in the hysteria of successfully saving Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Syfy opted to cancel “The Expanse”, a space opera with a strong fan base and likened to Battlestar Galactica in terms of drama.

Alcon Television Group who owns the rights and fully financed the show, are shopping it around to other networks and streaming services for it’s 4th season. Fans have launched their own campaign to lobby to save the show, boasting it’s ratings of audience and critic scores.

Personally, I am a fan of the show. I first took interest when it first premiered but didn’t follow through because of the reputation Syfy had of making poorly CGI’ed shows and movies but I did recommend it to a friend. After she told me that it was really good, I streamed the whole show in the span of a week. The Expanse breaks the stigma of Syfy with incredible visuals and impressive CGI and boasts a story that leaves watchers wanting more. I highly recommend streaming the first season and see for yourself.
