Tom Hardy Wraps Filming Venom and Celebrates with Behind-the-Scenes Photo

Tom Hardy has wrapped filming for the upcoming Venom Film. Hardy shared a photo via instagram after completing filming. Tom Hardy will be playing Eddie Brock, The Original Venom and the film will be directed Ruben Fleischer and will become the first spinoff film in the shared Sony/Marvel Universe.

During a panel at Comic-Con Experience Brazil, Tom Hardy said that he'd do the character justice and that the film is inspired by the "Venom: Lethal Protector" Storyline.

"Venom: Lethal Protector" was a six issue miniseries published in 1993 with Venom and Spider-Man agreeing to a truce and Venom moved to San Francisco. After moving to San Francisco he is hunted by the Life Foundation who wants to study the Venom Symbiote and use it for their own purposes.

Carnage has been rumored to appear in the film but no one has been cast for the role. Tom Holland's Spider-Man has also been rumored to appear in the film but there hasn't been any confirmation.

Venom is scheduled for an October 5th release date.
