What Is....Atomic Heart
Atomic Heart is a game set in an alternate universe where the Soviet Union is more advanced, ended WWII early, and made many technical leaps decades before their real-life counterparts. Now they’ve become the strongest world power in the game’s lore. The game, made by Russian developers, is set in a technologically advanced 1955 Russia that has sky cities, robots, and can control gravity. Early story details say the player is tasked to investigate an accident at a Soviet facility and prevent any dangerous entities or information from getting out.
This game popped up on my radar earlier in the year. Whenever I hear about comparisons to understand the concept of the game, “Russian BioShock” is what I heard often. In terms of aesthetics and feel, it’s an apt description.
Atomic Heart does not have a release date but will release Day One Game Pass on XBOX and Microsoft PC, as well as PS4 and PS5.
