9/5/18 - Vancouver, Canada and Chengdu, China have been announced as the latest Overwatch League franchises. The additions of these teams brings the official count 20.
9/4/18 - Washington D.C., USA and Hangzhou, China will be the newest cities awarded Overwatch League teams. The addition of these two teams will bring the 2019 Overwatch League franchise count to 18. The Overwatch League still expects to add 2 more teams before the end of the expansion process.
