Multiple sources are reporting that the campaign to save the Sci-Fi space opera The Expanse may have paid off. Amazon has become a frontrunner to pick up the series' 4th season.

Jeff Bezos, who is a fan of the James S.A. Corey novels, has been looking for a show for Amazon Prime Video that will be its version of a network stalwart like Game of Thrones for HBO. Alcon Television Group has been shopping the series' 4th season around to different networks since SYFY, an NBCUniversal network, cancelled the show. Currently, The Expanse's first air streaming rights belong to Amazon in the United States so there is some history between Amazon and Alcon.

Fans have had a serious campaign to save the show so far, going so far as to hire a plane and fly a banner above Amazon Studios to lure the company to pick up the show.
